Ark Tech Motor Sport - Porsche
GT3RS
Sugo Circuit, Japan
(25th October 2004)
I experienced my first laps of a Japanese racing circuit on Monday. I was invited to Sugo Circuit by Ark Tech Motor Sport to test their Porsche GT3RS which contests the Japanese GT Championship.
The circuit is great. Some challenging corners and great scenery. It flows very nicely. The car is a subtle but hugely enjoyable upgrade from my usual GT3 Cup car. It has very similar power, but the closer ratio sequential gearbox means you are more often using peak torque. The improved suspension makes the car much more compliant with the corners – particularly on entry.
I enjoyed a couple of eight lap runs and my fastest time of 1:29.1 compared favourably with the team’s regular driver Keita Sawa who finished second in last year’s GT300 class. This is the future!

Leaving the pits for a first taste of the GT3RS.

It's lunch time. Enjoyijng a banana and discussing the car's handling with
Jessie.
