A-Ha Racing was unveiled to the media in Shanghai yesterday (April 21st) by President Enterprise’s Mr Lin Wu-chung. Representatives from over 30 outlets attended the launch at the old Long Hua airport site. A-Ha Racing’s driver, Matthew Marsh, was on hand to explain why the team has entered the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia this year: “The priority is to bring A-Ha coffee to everyone’s attention. Drinking A-Ha is like driving a Porsche – after you’ve done it once you’ll want to keep doing it!” The seven-event Carrera Cup series started at the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix in March and tours the region, visiting Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai and Macau. Being the supporting race for China’s first F1 Grand Prix in September is, “very exciting,” says Marsh. “The Grand Prix will be China’s biggest sporting event ever. It’s great that A-Ha can be part of that. I hope to perform strongly at the team’s home race” Marsh visited the Shanghai International Circuit before the A-Ha Racing media launch. “It’s not finished yet, of course, but it looks like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I was at the Bahrain Grand Prix earlier this month and the circuit there was very impressive. The Shanghai circuit should be just as good.” A-Ha Racing plan to display their 400-horsepower Porsche GT3 racing in shopping malls across China later in the year as part of a road show to promote the A-Ha ready-to-drink coffee products. “I think the car looks fabulous painted in its metallic coffee colour. Motor sport is quite new to China, but I can see that the people here are really interested. It was great fun talking to the journalists – some of them had really clever questions!” Marsh and the A-Ha Racing team will now head to Kuala Lumpur for the next races in the Carrera Cup series on May 9th. |
