PICCA Rounds 6 & 7 - Beijing, China
(AFOS Event - 16-17th July 2005)

Championship heats up!

Nattavude still has a healthy lead in the championship table after scoring fourth place points finishes in both races in Beijing over the weekend. I am 22 points behind, in fourth place, but just eight points from second place - which is now held by my Le Mans team mate Darryl O'Young who won both races on Sunday. Jonathan Cocker is just a point behind Darryl. Danny Watts finished behind O'Young and Cocker in both races.

I started the first race seventh and finished sixth after demoting Nigel Albon from the start. In the second race I took Nattavude into the first corner and then benefitted from the retirement of Rizal Ramli. I enjoyed a fabulous race-long battle with Watts and Nattavude, finishing fourth.

Former boss of Uni-President China, Mr B.M. Yen, sent over a newly-signed 2005-spec A-Ha Racing cap to replace the 2004 model which is now rather worn-out. This inspirational leader will be visiting the team at the Shanghai Grand Prix in October. .

Working with engineer Matt Liddy to make the car go faster - it actually went slower!

The sudden downpour before race two necessitated a change to wet tyres. Crew chief Rolly Relanes gets to work.
