PICCA Rounds 8 & 9 - Taebaek, Korea
(AFOS Event - 6-7th August 2005)

Back near the front...

After an absence of almost six months I finally managed to get back on the podium of a Carrera Cup Asia race. It was only third place, but the signs are good.

We led the first race by taking the lead at the first turn, from third on the grid. As the race went on I dropped back to fourth place. Whilst this was depressing on its own it confirmed our theory that there is something, set-up wise, which we are doing differently to the opposition. We will have this rectified before the next event, at Shanghai in October.

Leading the pack in round eight.

I spent much of the weekend dicing with Darryl O'Young - with whom I share a car in the Le Mans Endurance Series. We were in this position much of the time but caused no damage to either car!

Jonathan Cocker won round eight from Nattavude and Darryl - with me fourth. Round nine was run in very difficult wet conditions. We started behind the safety car and completed several laps like this before the green light was given. I managed to make it ahead of Darryl and was able to watch Nattavude reel in and take Cocker before the flag.

Nattavude now has a 15 points advantage over Cocker and 22 over Darryl. I am 30 points behind - though only eight behind Darryl.
